Grand Slam Sam's Story...
If you're searching for a "Home run" Sam's name says it all. Grand Slam Sam is gentle, loving, playful, and all around a great dog! He is 3 years old, weighs about 18 pounds, and he loves snuggle time. He just wants to be near you. He also has a playful side and gets little spurts of energy but for the most part is very relaxed. He is potty trained and gets along great with other dogs, but not cats. He would be best fit in a relaxed home with a dog friend that could be home with him while you are out. Sam is currently in a foster home that has a doggie door and a fenced yard that he can use while his foster mom and dad are out. He can be crated if needed but does have some anxiety about being in it. Grand Slam Sam is a great snuggle bug and loyal companion. He would be best fit in a home with older children and a family that has lots of Love to give.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Grand Slam Sam, a Marcellus Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Marcellus, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Marcellus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marcellus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marcellus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marcellus paves the way for another one to be saved.
