Reckless's Story...
Reckless is a wonderful German Shepherd who is estimated between 3-4 years of age. Reckless is a beautiful boy and is always extremely happy. When he was in the shelter Reckless became extremely sick and we rushed him to the vet immediately. About 24-48 hours later his front leg at started showing signs of infection. We believe he had been bit by a spider resulting in his fever and the illness which ultimately led to his leg being deformed. Reckless still uses his leg and it doesn't cause him any pain so we made the choice to not remove it. Reckless gets along great with all of the other dogs in his foster home and adores his foster family and their children. He is a friendly boy and loves everyone he meets. He loves to be with his family, or with people in general. At any given time you can find Reckless carrying either a toy, bone, or rock depending on what is available to him at the time. Overall Reckless is a sweet boy who would make the perfect addition to any household willing to love him despite his bumps.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reckless, a Louisville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Louisville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Louisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Louisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Louisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Louisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
