My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey is a young (perhaps 6-7 months), very loving and gentle girl. She sleeps between your ankles or in the crook of your knees and can't wait for bedtime. She's easygoing, happy, active, social and playful. She loves canned food and can't get enough individual attention. She gets along well with other kitties and is perfectly fine with dogs. She's just like any other kitty and she happens to be FIV+. That simply means that Honeydew should be adopted by a stable family that will not cause her undue stress. They should also have her check-ups performed regularly, as her immune system might be slightly less robust than another cat's. Some FIV+ kitties have dental issues if they are not cared for properly but FIV is NOT typically fatal for cats. They can live relatively healthily for many years and this little girl deserves that chance. Honeydew can safely live with FIV negative cats too. The primary mode of transmission is through vicious bite wounds, the kind that occur outdoors during aggressive fights and territorial disputes (generally between unneutred males). Casual, non-aggressive contact will not spread FIV. However, if you have no other cats but would like Honeydew to share her home with another FIV+ kitty (which would be a wonderful gift for two kitties!) we can assist with that.
All of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, up to date on shots, combo tested negative for FIV/Leukemia and microchipped.
