My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~adoption fee applies; if serious about adoption please email caarescue@gmail.com~

My name is Mouse and I am a little weee man weighing in at approximately 4 pounds!
I am a two year old sweetie who found myself at a pound as a stray and was never claimed; they even kept me a little longer at the pound past my stray hold to see if someone would claim me but no one came and no one called. Soon my little tiny body got sick from being there and that is when a kind volunteer from CAA swooped in to rush me to Animal 911 vet in Roxboro
Strange story of how I got this and I will spare you the gory details (… only because I do not really know how it happened!!! & if you are male reading this you may want to skip to the next paragraph!!) my penis became distended from my body and could not reinsert itself. Not sure how long I sat like this at the pound with my little willy wonka just hanging out there exposed to the elements and cold! Thankfully the kind vet at Animal 911 reinserted it with a quick little poke and then made sure I had no other issues like bladder control. So basically this might happen again but it has not happened since I have been with my foster family. A cytology was also done and a slight bacterial infection was found so I received a anti biotic injection that made we pretty woozy for a couple of days. But now I am in A one tip top shape!
I am house trained and will do my business outside. But anyone who is used to little chi men knows that accidents will happen and when we gots to go WE GOES and if you are not around or are not paying attention to me I will go where it suits me. & for sure when I am adopted and I move to my new home I will have accidents the first week until I figure stuff out – the moves and the changes for me will be a lot so you will have to be patient with me
The volunteers at CAA laugh at me and call me Bambi on Ice – I am very klutzy on my legs … and people are fascinated just watching me walk! There are a ton of videos of just me walking and it is beyond the most cutest thing ever
Being 4 pounds with winter approaching I will require a whole new wardrobe to keep me warm!
I am leash trained and do enjoy my walks and mini adventures with my foster mom
I am not overly vocal but will bark when someone new enters the home; it is my job to announce to everyone that someone has arrived and I take my job verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry seriously. So if you live in an apartment with sensitive grumpy neighbors who are not doggie people I may not be your best choice as a pal for life!
I have been left alone for up to 6 hours crated with no destruction or separation anxiety to note as of today in foster care
I am dog friendly as I have two brothers in foster care; I have not been tested with cats but if you have a mean old cat who likes to attack dogs well I may not be a good fit because there is no way I could defend myself against a pussy attack! I am just that tiny!!
I won’t be looking for a home with any young children – at 4 lbs I would be concerned that I may be viewed more like a toy than the little munster man that I am!
I am a little shy meeting new people so when you come to meet me don’t stress about it if I don’t give you hugs and snuggles right away. I need time to warm up and attach to people. Just watch me with my foster mama and you will see what I will be like once I am with you
If you are a first time Chihuahua guardian please read up on the breed to know what you are getting into! I always say once you go chi you never go back! Chihuahuas are so very special!! They are loyal to their guardians almost to a fault, attaching to one person in the home and will love and protect that person fiercely! I am looking for that ONE PERSON! Chihuahuas are quirky and especially eccentric! There is no other breed that even comes close to matching me in my weirdness!
& while I am cute as cute can be I am still a dog and so I am looking for a family member and trusted guardian to treat me as one and to continue the training my foster parents have started! Sure I would love to be carried around in a purse all day wearing the newest in fall fashions but before long I will become one of those impossible chis that you hear about – so while I do need some extra TLC I still need my new guardian to respect me for who I am … A DOG!
At this time I exhibit no food or toy aggression or possession with people or other dogs
My foster mama is enthralled with me and here is what she has to say about me & I quote: Beyond being so incredibly cute, Mouse is also surprisingly friendly, brave, and adventurous for such a small dog. He's not yappy, and is very fine with being kennelled. Though shy at first, he's not at all fearful or timid, and warms up to new polite dogs and people quickly
I will be heading back to Animal 911 for another health check and to have my eyes checked for possible impairment along with my vaccinations and rabies also to be sure that my bacterial infection is gone

If you would like to meet Mouse at his foster home in Montreal please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Mouse we will make arrangements for you to meet him for potential adoption
