Meet Bones, our Senior Pet of the Month! This big, handsome boy was found back in 2011, as a walking skeleton in front of a police precinct. He was pure love then, and he still is. He is now about 8 years old and an American Bulldog mix. He is a love, even in spite of the fact that he was adopted out a couple years ago, and returned, along with his friend and companion. He was returned not due to any fault of his own or wrongdoing. Bones still holds his head high and he still has hope that one day the right person will walk into his life and completely turn it around. Like us, he feels that the last human was just not the one for him. He thoroughly loves romping in the dog park and had the best time out there having his photo shoot. Bones loves fresh air and sunshine, and that coupled with love and attention, are an absolute dream come true for our big boy. He loves people and has a wonderful personality. At his age, his demands are few. He just wants to be loved, have a secure sense of belonging in his world and be fed. Well, there is always the thing of the comfy bed, but then, what senior wouldn't thoroughly enjoy a soft, fluffy bed! He is way beyond the stage in his life of chewing and destructive behavior, making caring for him a pretty easy job. That is one of the great things about senior dogs. They have their best years yet to give. No hassles, no worries. Just love them and share their golden years with them. Anyone in search of a mellow companion pup just to enjoy life with? Bones is your boy. He promises to love and to cherish for the rest of his days, which we expect to be many. The only thing he needs is you.

Breed identification by visual means is unreliable for most dogs. We are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Each dog at CARA is an individual and we do our best to describe each animal based on personality, not by breed label.
