My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Darling Gus is a very handsome 8-9 year old terrier mix who was saved from a overcrowded shelter. He is very sweet, a little shy but very well behaved. He is housebroken and has great house manners. He does well in a crate but prefers to be with his human whenever possible. He sleeps with his foster currently and loves to curl up on the couch. He is a very nice little dog who will give a special someone a lot of love. Gus is a laid back little sweetheart. You don't have to take his foster mom's word for it, everyone from the vet to the groomer to strangers on the street love this little guy and sing his praises for being such an easy going guy. Gus loves hanging out wherever you are! Nuzzling up next to you on the couch, or against your leg while you sleep, that is where he is happiest. The fastest way to get his tail wagging is to take him for a leisurely walk where he can sniff around and make friends with other similar sized pups. He doesn't show interest in chasing birds or cats or getting into things, really just wants to be near you. He is pretty trustworthy and happy enough to hang out in his crate and take a nap while you are away. He is a bit uneasy around dogs bigger than he is so he typically just avoids them. Gus is not a young guy but he doesn't have any trouble getting around. He is generally quiet, and can be easily startled by loud noises as he gets adjusted to his new surroundings. He would make a great companion for someone looking for a laid back best friend to hang out with.

When Gus arrived he was severely matted and covered in ticks. It was clear that he had not been cared for for some time. He has skin allergies and scratches until his skin bleeds so he is on allergy medication-Temaril, 1 pill every other day. When he arrived he also had 2 small, short seizures but notable so I had a senior blood panel done and it showed that his liver count is off, not a lot but something to keep an eye on. We can't know if his liver is causing the seizures or if stress and his condition caused the seizures but either way we have him on meds for the seizures just to keep them at bay-Zonisamide, 50mg/pill twice a day. He is now in good condition, eats good food and is on holistic liver boosting supplements. He goes to work daily with his foster and loves to go for walks and ride in the car but mostly Gus loves to sit on your lap. He is a very sweet boy.

Buddy's adoption donation is $275 to vet costs, cover pull fees at the shelter, paperwork necessary to bring him to rescue and transport to get him here. LAMPR is a 501c3 public charity and all monies go to help other dogs in need.

Thanks for considering a rescue!
