My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This quiet lady came to us through our Community Cats program, and was cared for by one of our own Tree House staffers for a long time before making his way into our facilities alongside her bonded best buddy, Pepito. These two black and white cats are easy to tell apart: if Dandy is a slight yet stocky black cat with just a little white, then Pepito is a white cat with some black markings and a jutting manly chin. Dandy will sit discretely off to the side while Pepito is more likely to be in the thick of things, but both of these sweet-tempered cats are approachable and friendly. Dandy just prefers things to move slowly, and may take some time to warm up. These two truly gain comfort and confidence from one another, and would be wonderful, sweet additions to any home. She is one our FIV+* residents who lives in our Cypress Colony. Dandy was born in 2007.

*Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a weakening of the immune system in cats. It's often compared to human HIV, but FIV is not transferable to humans or other species. It is also difficult to transfer to other sterilized cats, and we believe that mixed FIV and non-FIV households can work if managed properly. If kept indoors in a stress-free environment, with regular medical care and high-quality nutrition, most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives. Tree House staff can help answer your questions to see if an FIV+ cat is the right choice for you. FIV+ cats adopted from Tree House are eligible for a lifetime veterinary-care plan that includes a free annual exam and discounted treatments.
