My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello People,
I’m Cricket, a loving, loyal, friendly and gentle little guy of about seven or eight, weighing only 12 pounds and I’m pure sweetness. My foster Dad says that I’m a happy, affectionate, sweet and quiet little boy who is full of life and in love with people.
Dad says I enjoy being around him, mom and my doggy foster sister and brother. He says I’m also amazing with children. They want to stop and get to know me (and of course pet me, since I’m soft as cotton.) I, of course let them because I’m such a gentle little guy.
Another thing Dad says is that I am a natural meeter- and- greeter. I’ve never met a stranger, as I will happily approach everyone I meet waiting to share a lick (Dad calls it a ‘Cricket kiss’) and to receive a pet in return. When I look at them with my soft brown eyes, it’s all over! Mom says there is no doubt that I'm an affectionate little guy who excels at snuggling and loving. It’s easy for me because I’m just happy to be a furkid.
And while I’m not one to grab toys and play with the other furkids, I do enjoy having them around. On our walks I greet all the pups we meet (even the ones that are bigger than I am and boy! there are a lot of them.) They all say ‘Hello’ to me, too.
I like to walk on a leash and I’m amazingly good in the car! Want to go for a ride anywhere? Then I’m your guy! I love to feel the wind on my face and you can tell by my expression how much I like riding in the car. I’m a great traveler who sits quietly, content to be with you.
Dad also says I’m S-M-A-R-T! (He has to spell it because he doesn’t want me to get a swelled head.) And special. Special because I am teaching him about love and compassion. You see, in whatever home I had before I became a furkid I was not well cared for. Somebody broke my leg and didn’t repair it. And then they took me to a place called a shelter. Now you know that shelter staff meet lots of pups-- and they knew, right away, that I was special. So they reached out and asked the BFK Aunties if I could become a furkid and get the surgery I needed.
At our wonderful vets I also won hearts and minds. Everyone there said I was special too. They looked me over, up and down and found that I couldn’t and wasn’t using that leg, so the good doctors took it off and I never even noticed. Dad says my balance is pretty good (except on fast turns) and that I recovered quickly. Nothing slows me down and my spirit has helped him appreciate life a lot more.
Mom and Dad agree that I’m a sweetheart of a furkid who would love a forever family, with at least one other dog. If that sounds like you then let’s schedule a date to meet. Dad says you will never find anyone sweeter, gentler or more loving!
See you soon!
Charismatic and Cuddly Cricket
