My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To MEET Amber - fill out an application. Cut and paste this link into your web browser: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/

Apply to FOSTER: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/how-you-can-help/foster/

Foster parents have the first option to adopt. We will provide all you need to foster.

Weight: 29 pounds

Age: 11 months

Personality: Very smart and friendly. Takes after her Jindo father in personality. She is a very happy dog. She will need exercise but not a super high amount like a purebred Golden Retriever. Amber has recently discovered the joy of playing with a ball! She is social, nicely balanced and a great girl! We haven't been able to find any bad habits! She is the most easy going of her siblings.

Coat: Medium length, will shed her undercoat, but only once or twice per year all at once Coat stays naturally clean with no doggy odor. Shedding only lasts 2-3 weeks and is very manageable with the right comb.

Training: Knows sit. Foster mom is taking her to dog training class on Saturdays to teach basic skills. Walks well on leash and has very nice manners, in spite of her young age.

Potty trained: Yes

Health: Excellent health, Korean Jindo dogs are known for their excellent health and vigor. Fully vetted, parasite free, no known health issues.

History: Amber was one of 6 puppies who were sold to a meat farm in S Korea, along with their Golden Retriever mom. The father was a purebred Korean Jindo. A volunteer rescued mom and 6 puppies and took them home, where they were raised along with 3 human children. One puppy and the mom was adopted in Korea. Amber and her 2 sisters were brought to California to find their forever home. Mixed breed dogs have a very difficult time getting adopted in Korea. They want purebred dogs who are under 10 pounds. Amber's two brothers in Korea will be coming here to the USA to find homes! Are you interested in fostering? If it wasn't for their foster family in Korea, we could never have saved these beautiful dogs! They have such an amazing personality and are very sweet!

Fostered in: La Habra

Type of home: Most home situations would be a good match for Amber. She'd make an excellent family dog with kids, but would also be quite happy with an active single person or couple. She will do well in social situations where you want to take your dog with you, like having coffee, a meal or walking through a store.

Crate trained: Yes

Good with Dogs: Yes all sizes
Good with Kids: Yes was raised with children
Good with Cats: Unknown

Adoption fee (non-refundable): $300

All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.

Our adoption process looks like this:

Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
