Meet Peppermint Patty - a loving, sweet, respectful little girl who is looking for a loving furever family!  She is currently in foster care and this is what her foster mommy had to say about her:

'Patty is a young and energetic 8-pound gal with the sweetest doting brown eyes. She is shy and timid at first, but once she understands that she is in a safe environment, she warms up, comes out of her shell and is very eager to please. She absolutely loves to go for walks. She walks really well on a leash and is very responsive to commands and direction. Once she’s had her morning walk, she is happy to curl up in a bed and chill the rest of the day. She is potty trained and is not a marker—I have had no accidents in the house. She is very food motivated and as with most small dogs, attention should be given to portion control. She gets along well with other small dogs. She has been living with 3 small males and 1 small female and there have been no issues. I have not had the opportunity to assess her with large dogs or cats. I believe she would do well as an only dog or in a home with one or two other small dogs. I also believe she will do well with respectful and well-behaved young children. I have not been able to test this out with my 18-month old because he is neither respectful nor well behaved. But what I can say is that she is completely unfazed by my child’s screaming, wailing and loud noises through out the day. She wags her tail at him and shows interest in his presence. She sleeps alone in her kennel at night (door open) but I’m sure she would snuggle in bed too (if we had the room for her!). After about 6 weeks, she indicated a desire to snuggle on the couch at night while we watch TV and she is very respectful of the other dogs and their space. She just wants a warm bed, blankie and some love! She will make a fabulous and loyal companion to a very lucky someone who opens his or her heart up to her.'

Peppermint Patty is a 'Constant Companion' when accessed using the ASPCA 'Meet Your Match' program. View the video here:  http://aspcapro.org/.../default/files/canine-ality-movie.swf

About Tiny Loving Canines (TLC)

About Our Rescue Group...

Tiny Loving Canines operates Ventura County's first and only full-time Rescue Center, open to the public 7 days/week in Simi Valley, CA.

We have the vision of a No-Kill generation, and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home the abandoned and neglected animals in our community. Our rescue acts as a needs-based safety net, allowing dogs maximum exposure for adoption at the county shelters, and saving their lives when they run out of time. We will do whatever it takes, within our means, to save a dogs life (unless it is illegal or immoral). TLC is proud to partner with Ventura County Animal Services in the march toward No-Kill in Ventura County!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our Rescue Shop is located at 1736 Erringer on the 2nd Floor in Simi Valley, CA. We are open 7 days/week to showcase the dogs in our care. You can come visit our dogs and puppies Monday-Saturday from 12-7pm, and Sunday from 12-5pm.

Our Adoption Process...

Every dog and puppy that is adopted from TLC is spayed/neutered, brought up-to-date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. Adoptions also include a complementary wellness exam at Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital and a coupon book to use at Theresa's.

If you are interested in adopting one of our furbabies, the very first step is to complete an adoption application; this can be done either in person at our Rescue Center or online from the dog's profile. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
