Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ruidoso is an ultra sweet and loving boy with a soft and gentle nature. He's too adorable for words, and with one of his eyes being ice blue very striking as well! He was pulled from a New Mexico shelter shortly after birth alongside his mom and littermates and has been home raised since. He is used to kids, unrelated adult dogs and all the typical household noises and activities, so is quite well adjusted.
Rui's litter had an acute medical crisis at age three weeks that left two pups badly affected and Rui only mildly so. He has a slight neurological deficit in his rear legs which is hard to notice. Physical therapy will still be good for him, however, and his adoption does include a free consult with a physical therapist, who can teach his adopter helpful exercises. His mild condition is strictly neuro muscular, although his neurologist specialist did advise us to let adopters know that as one littermate did have seizures, there is some chance he might experience that in his lifetime....those are often readily controlled by medication, however.
We are seeking a home to commit to Rui for the longterm. What they will get in return is a puppy raised in the best of settings, as cute and trusting as can be. His adoption fee is $450. Applications are available on our southpawsexpress.org website, or by contacting Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com.
