Here is a little girl who will win your heart right from the start! Haley is a beautiful white and gray/brown Shih Tzu who will be two years old on December 22nd. She is a perfect 11 pounds. Haley has a gentle, playful personality. She can be a little shy at first, but when she gets to know you, she will open up to your world and loves your attention. One of her most endearing characteristics is the way Haley cuddles up to you in bed at night or tucks her head under your chin when you hold her.
Haley currently lives with her foster mom and Shih Tzu foster sister. She gets along well with other dogs and warms up to people after a little time to get acquainted. Haley loves to play with her squeaky toys and then places them in her doggy bed so they are all ready for her next play time! Haley is making good progress with her potty training, but still needs some time and patience to solidify that training. When Haley first came into foster care, she had no experience with walking on a leash, but it didn’t take her long to discover just how wonderful walks can be! She happily takes a one or two mile walk every day and enjoys experiencing all the sights and sounds outside. Haley follows commands well and should be very successful in puppy training classes. Her foster mom believes that puppy training will help Haley socialize and also become a more confident dog. So she is looking for a family who will attend training classes with Haley.
Haley would be most happy in a home with another small dog, but would also do nicely as an only dog. Because Haley loves companionship so much though, if she is an only dog she needs a family who is home with her much of the day. Haley will be happiest in a quiet, calm household with adults and older, respectful children. Her foster mom would like her to live in the immediate Twin Cities area so she can visit once in awhile. She would also like Haley and her new family to attend our Rescue Reunion which is held each year on the third weekend in September. Haley is healthy, up to date on shots, spayed and micro chipped. Her adoption fee is $396.92, which includes Minnesota sales tax.
