Hello there, I’m Xilo, a 10 year old fella who weighs just 59 pounds. I was found wandering recently in north Alabama. It seemed like I was out in the world by myself for a very long time. I was sad, hungry, lonely and sick. I was taken to a shelter and they called AGB to take me in. They knew I was a gentle, sweet, boy but I would need more care then they could give me. An AGB volunteer came and got me right away and they immediately started taking care of my medical needs. Besides needing to be neutered and microchipped, I needed treatment for kennel cough, an ear infection, intestinal parasites and eye surgery. Yes, I was in pretty bad shape when AGB took me in and to tell you the truth I’m not quite sure why they did. I know most families want healthy, young pups, not older dogs like me. But my friends at AGB say every life counts and older, more mature dogs are wise, loving and loyal. They say Golden hearts are forever and my heart deserves to be loved. Just knowing I had someone on my side made me feel better right away and AGB says they won’t rest until I’m healthy and in the arms of my forever family. I can’t wait!
