My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Buster! He is approx., 3 year old male chocolate Lab. He is a very active boy who loves to be with people. Buster like adults and children but would be best in a home with adults only or kids older than 10 or teens because he can get mouthy at times while playing and will grab clothing and pull. He will need someone with patience and attention as he matures and continues to learn appropriate play behaviors. He is drawn to stuffed animals and shoes so he needs to be provided with a variety of dog toys to keep him busy. He also loves tennis balls and is happy to carry a ball around in his mouth when he is not busy running to catch one! He has spent some time living with a 7 year old female chocolate Lab and has gotten along well with her, but prefers a more active playmate. Buster does not get along well with other male dogs because he can become overly excited and competitive with them in a playgroup situation. Buster would do best being either the only dog in the home or be in a home with a female dog that is close to his size and as active so they are comfortable with his playfulness. We are unsure how he behaves with cats. Buster is house trained and would fit well with someone who can be home more often than not to give him potty breaks and attention throughout the day. He likes sleeping on a large dog bed in his human’s bedroom and will stay there throughout the night. He knows how to sit when told to do so and he will follow this cue when waiting for his food to be put into his bowl for mealtimes. Buster loves to eat! He is treat motivated and eager to learn new cues so more training along with obedience training would be ideal for Buster. Buster was rescued out of a kill shelter and overcame heart worm treatment and is now negative. He is a very handsome, healthy, strong and smart boy full of enthusiasm and eagerness. He is ready to find his forever happy home.
