Laverne's Story...
The name’s Laverne, and I’m a female Terrier/Lab mix born approximately 1/07. I am up to date on shots, spayed and heartworm negative. Here’s the scoop on me. Late one night, my previous people dumped my sister, Shirley, and I on the road because they decided they didn’t love us anymore. I don’t get it. What’s not to love. We get along great with other dogs (especially with each other - in case you’re looking for two), cats and adults. We are very shy at first, so a home without small children would be best for us. Anyway, since getting out of the car wasn’t an option, here we are – cute, sweet, loving and available. Everyone tells us we will not be that way for long (the available part of course) and I sure hope they are right.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Laverne, a Baton Rouge Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
