Barnes's Story...
Barnes is 3 year old male Pointer/Hound mix. He was abandoned after being hit by a car and rescued by a police officer, after whom he was named. Barnes is great with all people and kids. He is very calm and and affectionate. He knows several commands like sit, stay, down and come. He is UTD on shots, neutered, and microchipped. He has not been observed with dogs his size but he is not good with small dogs. We recommend that he go to a home where he can be the only dog. He is housebroken!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barnes, a Gainesville Pointer/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Gainesville, or seeking a Pointer/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Gainesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gainesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gainesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Pointer/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gainesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
