Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sassy. Sassy is a female 18-24 month old purebred Border Collie with a semi rough coat. Sassy came to us via Kern County. She was adopted from the shelter and was returned because she chases chickens and goats. She has been evaluated with sheep and she is a natural. Sassy is amazingly sweet, gentle, smart, however, this girl needs a job to do an Due to her prey drive, a home with smaller animals and cats is not recommended.
Sassy is an awesome dog that is still a bit of a diamond in the rough, as long as her person is willing to invest the time and resources in her to help build her confidence. Sassy is one happy little dog. She keeps herself busy by tossing a tennis ball and the chasing it or by wrestling with a Kong toy. She is still learning to walk on a leash but with more practice she will get better. She is learning her basic obedience of Sit, Down, Shake, and we are working on Stay, but she rather play than stay.
She does want all your attention and she will get it any way she can, in her case she jumps up on you, this is another behavior her foster home is working on to make her stop. Sassy is still very puppy like and loves to run around. She gets along with all the dogs at the dog park, and it doesn't matter if they are big or small. She loves to chase and be chased. She is housebroken and does her business in the yard. She sleeps in her crate at night and during the day that's where she lays down.
If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html
