My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here's Bear! He is currently in foster right now with a young couple and doing much better. He came to us from a volunteer who does rescue work and she would have kept him had she not had too many cats already. Meaning, this guy is as mellow, laid back and sweet as they come.

Bear is young and has many good years ahead of him we are hoping with good nutrition, lots of love and affection and low stress. He is FIV+ and that means that maybe some day his immune system will be lowered. Even then, there are lots of good immune boosters being used these days and frankly, any illness an FIV+ cat can get, any cat can get.

We want you to consider Bear on his merits. He has no aggression whatsoever, loves to cuddle and snuggle, enjoys being brushed and enjoys playing as well. He will settle in instantly in your home in a single room if you have other cats or out and about if you don't have other pets. We will guide you in the introduction of his as your new BFF - Best Furry Friend.

We will assist you with all transition and we have an arrangement with a number of vets to offer a discount on treatment should he ever actually become FIV symptomatic. As with any FIV cat, they can live as long as any other cat. We will also step up and help in any way we can should something happen with his immune system. But in CANNOT be understated, stress can make any cat ill. Low stress is a huge factor in keeping these cats healthy and happy.

And as with all special needs cats, we want you to think about adopting not just for you to have a companion to love, but to actually save a life. These cats used to be routinely executed just for having FIV. Do we do that to humans with HIV? No.

You almost have to meet Bear to believe how mellow, gentle and affectionate he really is. But trust us, he is just that. Please consider opening your heart and home to this fabulous little guy!
