My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, My name is Zeus and I am ~5 yr old red male dachshund. I am new to DREAM and today I am taking my no-puppy-pledge. They are also going to clean my teeth while I'm sound asleep. I will have fresh breath for my new family. My foster mom says I'm quite the little snuggle bug. I also like to play with my foster fur brother and am pretty good at walking on the leash. I weigh ~10 lbs but need to gain just a bit more. They are feeding me lots of good nutrition to help me build some more muscle tone. I want to be like Pupeye and grow up nice and strong. These nice people at DREAM are going to help me get there.

If you are interested in adopting Zeus, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Zeus 's adoption fee is $400. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Zeus will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
