Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ginger is a sweet 3 year old female who is black and tan with a unique little mohawk! Ginger came to us as a stray from Melbourne Animal Services. We believe she had been hit by a car as she was suffering a broken pelvis when she first arrived at the rescue. This has left her with a limp and some arthritis at an early age. Now that she is healed, she is ready to find her forever home.
This girl is full of winning personality and makes her foster family laugh with her antics. She loves people and gets along with other dogs. She plays like the big dog she is however, so a playmate with similar play style would be preferable for her. She currently lives peacefully with two cats but she does need to be reminded not to pester them at times. She is fully house and crate trained but is also not destructive if not crated. On leash she does well, but will need continued training to maintain her leash manners.
The best home for Ginger would include a fenced in yard as she doesn't require long walks due to her previous injuries. She needs a caring owner willing to manage her joint conditions in the future to live a long and happy life. A home with a swimming pool would be beneficial as well. Ginger is still a young, energetic dog and will need a home where she can play without over doing it.
Ginger has completed her heartworm treatment and it is a must that she stays on a monthly heartworm preventative. Her adoption fee is $250.
