My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abby is a 3 and 1/2 year old brindle cutie who ended her racing career with a broken hock, She has had surgery and is now rehabbing. She does fine with small dogs and cats. Word has it she that she loves treats.

Hi! I'm Abby. My foster family calls me "DD" for doggie diva. I don't know why. I think they should call me Princess, because that's what I want to be when I grow up.

I spent a long time at the vet because I broke my ankle in several places. They tried of fix it, but I lost circulation in my foot, so they had to amputate my leg. It was a little scary, but I was brave and strong. I wagged my tail through all of it and was hopping around on three feet within an hour of surgery.

I'll have my no-puppies surgery on December 14, then I'll be ready to hop into your life. I have a gift list ready....bling collar, super plushy jacket, squeaky toys and a delicious bony bone to chew on. If you don't have time to pick up a present, that's okay as long as you come and get me!

FOSTER UPDATE:

Abby is a happy wiggly girl and oh so beautiful. She has an adorable little bounce when she is excited. She also hops with such vigor that her jacket comes off. She likes to play peek-a-boo around corners at us but her wagging gives her away every time. Abby had a few adorable tripod zoomies this week.

Abby is a total charmer and sleeps beside my side of the bed, so her tail goes off the second I wake up. Vizz (greyhound) actually willingly gave her his spot and he shares it with her at times, when she feels snuggly. She is really attracted to sparkly things and little luxuries too, like Lillith's play tiara.

At night when she is comfortable and does not want to go to bed she "forgets" how to walk on the tiles. She will be hopping around all happy but once it is bed time she tells me she can't walk and the floor turns to slippery ice. It is amazing acting, she knows how to pull the heartstrings. Today at dinner both girls were sitting bolt upright in front of the fireplace watching Chris get it ready, they were adorable, but moved as soon as I grabbed the camera. Cheeky girls! She pretty much potty trained herself.

We think there is a lot of something really special in miss Abby! Abby is a super friendly, happy girl who will fit in well wherever she goes. She is currently living with a variety of male and female dogs, and a four-year-old girl, with no issues.
