My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION ON FILE WITH JNMRF BEFORE CONTACTING US ABOUT ANY DOGS. Go to http://www.elkhoundrescue.org/adopt.htm to fill out the application to adopt

Bruiser is a 4-5 yr old male Norwegian elkhound mix. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and is housebroken. He has been a stray and is still a bit cautious about new things. So far, he isn't trusting other dogs very much and might be best as the only pet. He is a good dog who just need some work on trust and fear issues. Slow introductions will help him get over his fear and nervousness of new people. Once he gets to know and trust you, he doesn't hold back on the kisses or hugs. He is very affectionate and loves HIS people. You will hear warning barks when he feels someone out there might threaten his owner. Bruiser is smart, quick to learn, and energetic. He loves to play ball...and hug and play tug of war with his rope and hug some more. When he plays, he sometimes gets all wound up and just runs around and around. Bruiser really needs a big fenced yard where he can run and play with his special person. He doesn't chew his people's things...just his toys. He is strong on a leash but is learning and he absolutely loves car rides. Bruiser may be best with adults and older children since he is very energetic and strong. With training, he might even be a good agility candidate. If you think Bruiser would fit into your life, please go to www.elkhoundrescue.org/adopt.htm and fill out the application to adopt him.
