Vinnie is a happy go lucky young elkhound mix who was born on Superbowl Sunday 2011 (2/6/2011) to an Elkhound mother in a rescue program and a Traveling Salesman father. He is a lovable, energetic fellow who is great with other dogs and children, unknown but suspected to be fine with cats. He is housebroken and due to occasional digestive upsets might require a bit of extra care with his feeding. As a pup, he did have irritable bowls and overstimulation would cause his problems. Now Vinnie just wants to have his own family and would really love his own teenage boy or girl to play with. If you would love to give Vinnie the home he dreams of, please go to www.elkhoundrescue.org/adopt.htm and fill out an application to adopt.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vinney, a Parsippany Norwegian Elkhound/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Norwegian Elkhound/Border Collie for sale in Parsippany, or seeking a Norwegian Elkhound/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Parsippany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Parsippany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Parsippany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Norwegian Elkhound/Border Collie breeders who help with Norwegian Elkhound/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Parsippany paves the way for another one to be saved.
