'A Tail of Two Kitties'
Hi -- My name is George and this is my sister and best friend, Gracie.  We were living all alone on the streets until the nicest lady found us and became our foster mom.  We had fleas, ear mites and worms, but our foster mom has taken us to the vet and, as of mid-October, 2015, we are happy, healthy 6-month-olds!  We have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested negative for FeLV, and we feel so much better now that all of those itchy pests are gone!  Our foster mom has 3 dogs, so we have to find a new furrever home.  As you can see in our pictures, we are the cutest tuxedo kittens ever, and we are best buddies so we have to stay together.  We LOVE to play with each other and we also love a nice warm lap when we get tired or need some cuddle time.  We love to snuggle with our foster mom in bed when she has slumber parties with us.  We are so happy and easy to please -- our favorite things are our plastic spring toys, cat milk and laps.  We also must be indoor kitties -- we know from experience that life outdoors is scary and dangerous!  If you think we could be the perfect babies for you, talk to our foster mom for more details about us.  And come to meet us - you will fall in love! If you want to meet us call 865-310-4854 or email   [Posted 10/22/2015]

About Shelter Animals Rescue Group (SARG)

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue group, with emphasis on mixed-breed dogs and cats. We adopt primarily from our local animal shelter, although we occasionally take in hardship cases. We also assist individuals in our area by advertising on our website animals they need to rehome, if the animals have been spayed/neutered. We gratefully accept donations, and we need volunteers for many events. More than anything, we need foster homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

As a volunteer group, we do not have a facility. Our animals reside in foster homes and boarding kennels. We show them regularly at the PetSmart store on Parkside Drive in Knoxville the second Friday of each month, 4 to 8 p.m., as well as by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Cat adoption fee is $125, and $145 for dogs. We attempt to match the animal's characteristics with the family and their lifestyle. We require an application form, which becomes part of the adoption contract, a personal or phone interview, veterinarian reference if applicable, home visit, and an additional agreement about how the animal will be treated. Cats must be indoors only, not declawed. Dogs must be fenced or leashed when outdoors and treated as part of the family--indoors as much as possible, and always at night. Adopter agrees to provide regular veterinary care, and to return the animal to us if they ever give it up. We reserve the right to check on the animal's welfare from time to time, with appropriate notice.
