Charo is a real masterpiece...just look at all of her unique markings from one orange tabby leg to the other with tortoiseshell all over...you could spend years just petting her and admiring her and I think everyday would be new...discovery after discovery...just amazing what is created!! Charo is every bit as fascinating in her attitude, soul, and zest to live...she was born around February/April 2008. She endured a painful ear condition that required surgery, as well as, dental surgery too...she is happy and harbors no ill will or attitude from what she has been through. Charo has also tested positive for FIV...this in no way diminishes her life or the expectation that she can and will lead a long and healthy life. Charo is high energy and playful...she loves to chase feathers and mice, swatting and grabbing them in her mouth. She is a real hoot when she gets started. The other side of her is gentle, kind and loving...just wanting to be a part of her people's activities. From napping on the couch watching television to laying on a favorite perch in the sun watching the birds. She is a lovely cat and so deserving of finding a loving, forever home of her own. FIV is not a death sentence ~ often it seems that the most precious and deserving cats that cross our path will test positive through no fault of their own...and it really is a shame. Most people will turn a blind's eye to a cat like this, but when you really open your eyes and see them for what they are, you realize that they deserve to be loved and cherished like any other cat...and indeed they are worthy of love and adoption! They can live normal, healthy, happy lives with other cats!!! Please feel free to email us with any questions you have...give us a chance to talk to you. You don't want to miss out on a sweetie like Charo, because of misinformation. As with all our Forgotten Felines cats for adoption, Charo is spayed and she is current on her vaccinations. For additional information on her, please contact her Foster Mom, Laura, at 256-420-8827 (leave a message) or email us at info@ffhsv.org

About Forgotten Felines

About Our Rescue Group...

Forgotten Felines, Inc. is a 501-(3)(c) non-profit charitable organization. Our primary purpose is to manage the feral cat population in our area by trapping, neutering/spaying and re-releasing (TNR) cats back into their original territories. We also work to provide safe temporary homes for cats that are homeless, unwanted, abandoned or lost. Some of our animals have been rescued from dangerous conditions and cannot be released back to their original territory...these animals are housed in foster homes until permanent loving homes can be found. The majority of these animals are friendly abandoned pets, that are not feral, and we offer these loving and grateful animals for adoption here on Petfinder and also at Petsmart in Jones Valley, Huntsville, AL. We also provide help to people who are elderly, disable, financially challenged and those who love their animals but cannot provide them with the necessary care.

Our Mission...

(1) Control feral cat populations through neutering/spaying
(2) Educate the public about about proper pet care and responsibility, especially neutering/spaying and advising about pet behavior and medical issues that often result in families giving up their pets
(3) Humanely remove and relocate ferals when possible
(4) Adopt out loving, grateful animals into permanent forever homes
(5) Raise necessary funds to build a shelter for rescued cats
