Oscar's Story...
Hello, my name is Oscar. I have had a tough life and was about to give up when CARE rescued me. I was so skinny and weak that I could only stand for a few minutes at a time and you could almost see my entire skeleton. I also had wounds on my legs, head, and neck. But, after weeks of crate rest, plenty of food and months of love I am doing great! My fur has all filled in, I have plumped up enough so no ribs are showing and I love being outside exploring and playing. I am still a little skittish and a bit wary of people although I really want to be a part of the family. I love to watch the other dogs in my family and learn from them. I am learning how to play with them, as well as with dog toys. I enjoy treats and lying in the sun. Leashes are still an obstacle for me but I am working on it. I always want to be with the other dogs, so if they go in the car, so do I! I have had many new experiences. I have been swimming and out to a ranch where I could roam freely. That was so much fun! I have done so well in my foster home, but it is time for me to move on and get a family of my own. My foster family is really going to miss me! I am looking for a family with a lot of love and patience, as I still have a few areas to work on like wearing a leash and letting people pet me freely. I know I can get over these fears with a little bit of help, time and love. I would also like to have another dog that I can buddy around with. My adoption fee is $150

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a San Antonio Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
