Katie's Story...
Katie: Born June 18th, 2015 Female, Black and White Bicolor Maine Coon Mix

Katie is such a classic kitten. She has very vivid black and white fur with the inverted white “v” above her nose which bicolors have. I love her pink little nose. Look at her “ear furnishings” -- the long white hair fluffing out of her ears. She is a little minx, if you know what I mean--captivating, saucy, a little teaser. Full of spirit, she will definitely keep you entertained with her quirky, comic behaviors.

Katie enjoys other cats and kittens. I expect she would do fine with gentle children. She would likely let dogs know their place in the scheme of things right away. She loves to play and explore and get into things. The world is her toy. She is a bit of a troublemaker as you can see from her expression

Her proportions are classic and often she looks like she is posing for a postcard of a kitten. (She will not pose, however, for the camera -- she moves too quickly.) Her soft fur is becoming very plush and thick as she grows. She’ll be a fairly big armful.

Katie eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katie, a Davis Maine Coon kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Davis, or seeking a Maine Coon kitten from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
