Bear's Story...
His previous owner told us that he is about 7-8 years old. He had to give him up because he just didn't have the time to spend with Bear anymore. He has already been neutered, and he is current on his vaccines. His previous owner told us that he spent the days in a kennel, and the nights in a dog house, so he may not be completely housebroken. He did say that "he is very active and likes to run. Open spaces would be good for him." He does show early signs of some arthritis in his elbow, which is probably why he is holding his leg up in this picture. Luckily, that is fairly easy to maintain!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Cody Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler for sale in Cody, or seeking a Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in Cody.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cody already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cody breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler breeders who help with Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cody paves the way for another one to be saved.
