Hi Everyone! My adoption fee has been reduced to $100! My awesome caretakers at the shelter say I have been here way too long. They are hoping this will help me find my furever family. Please fill out an application to adopt me today!Katie, is finding life to be quite sweet!
Katie was no easy catch for a Furkids volunteer. Katie was a terrified little stray and it was quite a feat to get her to the shelter. Now, she is growing more trusting every day. She gets alone with other dogs and, with her favorite play pals, she is quite energetic! She shares food or toys nicely and walks well on a lead. Dainty Katie is still very shy but she has shown that she desperately wants to love and be loved. She loves to snuggle with a human and relax into a gentle ear massage. A quiet home with gentle adults or older children would be the perfect recipe for Katie's forever home. A playful doggie companion to show her the ropes would be the icing on the cake!
Update from the Shelter: Well I have to say over the past week I was able to finally put my hands on her. It is a slow process, but when she allows me to pat her I will sit on the floor. I start with under her chin, then go to ears. She will lay down, put her paws out and I can slowly rub her sides and belly. She too loves treats and has come a long way since she got to the shelter, she was another that wouldn't move out from the desk. She is leery of strangers, but I think that is pretty normal since she was feral for a long time I'm guessing. She would benefit from having other dogs around as well.
Katie weighs 40 lbs. and her estimated birthdate is 8/14/2014. If you want to know more about Katie and to speak to an Adoption Counselor, please complete an application at https://furkids.org/dog-adoptions/application. Must be at least 21 years of age to apply.
