King's Story...
King is a gentle and sweet 8 year old shepherd who had a very hard life until we saved him. He was left tied up outside the home of a kind woman in
South LA who is known to take in animals and then reach out to rescue. King was in terrible pain! Once getting him to our vets we learned that he had a pin in his upper leg from a prior surgery that was never removed years ago and it was pressing on a nerve! He also had a hip
Socket that needed to be put back into place. After a very expensive surgery at a top vet care facility, King was finally able to go home. It was also discovered that King has low kidney function so needs to be on special Renal food for the rest of his life.
King has made steady and amazing progress. He is a gentle giant. He has gained weight and use of his back leg, is good with all people and animals. He loves going to the dog park and is now ready for that special home where he can be loved and cherished for the rest of his days. King is neutered microchipped and current in vaccines.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

King, a Santa Monica German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Santa Monica, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Santa Monica.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Monica already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Monica breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Monica paves the way for another one to be saved.
