Xena's Story...
Xena, a 17 lb, 2 year old Norwegian Lundehund mix is a real pretty girl. She is fabulous with dogs of all ages and sizes and is adorable when she invites them to play with her; this makes her enthusiastic and happy. Xena is also fine with cats. This cutie walks well on the leash and enjoys going for walks. At home she is working on her shyness with her foster family; she wants to run up and say hi, but needs time to fully trust. Her foster family jokes that she has a crush on her GSD foster brother because she always sidles up to him and kisses his face. She will light up when she sees a treat and will take them from your hand. Xena is completely house trained; can be in a crate, but doesn’t need to be; and can mellow out quickly when play time is over. The family who decides to continue working with this girl will really enjoy her quiet company.

Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (www.anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible, organization. We are an all volunteer group, so after submitting your application, if you don't hear back from us within a few days, please e-mail us at adoption@anewchancear.org. Be sure to read about the adoption process (http://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) on our website, so you'll know what to expect and fill out all fields on the adoption application (http://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) or we won't be able to process it. We are a foster-based rescue and do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. Please do not contact us requesting a meeting with a dog because we are an all-volunteer organization, and these requests tie up our volunteers who could instead be checking applications.

As you can imagine, we are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (http://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We do not have a shelter facility and we provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide whatever follow up care is necessary while they are in foster care. All of this is very expensive and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (http://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through your kindness and that of supporters like you that we are "changing lives...one tail at a time" by providing our dogs with "A New Chance." (www.anewchancear.org)

Thanks so much.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Xena, a Bedford Hills Norwegian Buhund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Norwegian Buhund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Bedford Hills, or seeking a Norwegian Buhund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Bedford Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Norwegian Buhund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Norwegian Buhund/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
