There's no question that Trixie is one of the nicest girls ever surrendered -- even the reason why her owner gave her up is backwardly endearing: he complained that her tail wagged too much!! In fact, her former owner hadn't spayed her so Trixie gave birth to a litter of beautiful puppies. All 6 inherited her flowing tail, which the owner promptly chopped off so they wouldn't "bother" anyone the way Trixie's tail bothered him. We have found wonderful homes for her tail-less puppies and now it's Trixie's turn to find a home . . . . where tail wagging is fully appreciated!!
As they say, one person's junk is another person's treasure . . . and there's no better way to describe Trixie! Trixie LOVES EVERYBODY! She has a stellar personality -- happy, sweet, and excessively loyal -- and she has faith that someone out there will think she's as perfect as we know she is, tail and all!!
Her foster mom loves her nighttime ritual:
"She is able to jump on the bed all by herself and will cuddle up next to you. If she lays at the bottom of the bed, you can whisper her name. She will get closer to you and lay down with her head low, but not all the way up the bed. You call her name again, she will creep low with her head down toward you a few inches never taking her eyes off yours. Whisper her name again and she creeps closer. Keep calling and she will end up with her nose to the side of your face! At night, she lays so quietly, you forget she's there."
Trixie is past the crazy-puppy stage and smart enough to listen. With her focus, gentleness, and willingness to please she will make an excellent sidekick! She loves to be held, loves to learn and will be forever grateful for her second chance. Trixie is about 1 1/2 years old, healthy and weighs about 30 pounds which makes her permanently adorable.
