Foxy's Story...
My name is Foxy and I’m a two year old Maltese mix. I came from a home where I was neglected and am so glad to have a chance at a real forever home. I weigh 13 pounds and won’t eat you out of house and home. My foster parents have been working on house training with me - I didn’t learn that n my last home. I am crate trained and am good with other dogs and children. I need a little training to walk nicely on a leash-something else they didn’t teach me. Some basic obedience training would help me to be a better companion. I’m fully vetted and my adoption fee is only $250. Get an application at rescueofhope@gmail.com. Will you be my forever family?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Foxy, a Grand Rapids Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
