Alvin's Story...
Alvin is a 3 year old Lab who weighs approximately 65 lbs. He is crate trained, housetrained, and walks well on a leash. He knows basic commands. Sit, stay, down, place. Alvin is not fond of cats. He gets along well with his foster dog brother. Because Alvin can become anxious, he needs a very structured home with an owner who will exercise him and provide consistent and strong direction. He will be a wonderful companion in the right home. If you would like more information on Alvin, please contact his foster dad. Gary, gem4619@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alvin, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
