My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ferdinand is a 1 1/2 year old, 60 pound male American bulldog/boxer mix that came to us as a stray. Poor Ferd is so scared in the facility that he constantly cowers in his kennel. However, after a little work and very slow progress, we have been able to get him comfortable enough to let him play in the yard. It was like watching a different dog! Ferdinand played and even smiled. He loved the freedom! We feel most of his fear is from the constant barking of the other dogs. Although he will walk past a kennel and even sniff the other dogs without aggression, if they bark or startle him he will quickly hunker down. Ferdinand is the sweetest boy that desperately needs a rescue. This is a dog that deserves to be loved and given a chance. Ferdinand simply needs someone to continue working with him and helping him build his confidence. I have personally spent a lot of time with Ferdinand and truly believe that he is a great dog! He listens well, knows basic commands such as sit and shake. He LOVES laying in your lap and having you rub him. Ferdinand is scared of the brush but we are working on that, he also has a slight fear of squeaky toys. Ferdinand is really a loving boy that would do almost anything to have a forever family!

This is the bio from the shelter he came from and yes he did get rescued by Rover Rescue. He is now at my foster home and I will update on his progress. UPDATE: After having Ferdinand almost a week now I have found him to be a very sweet and friendly boy. He does not seem as scared as the shelter has described him. He is afraid of other dogs though as he ran from my two little dogs here. He may be a little younger then thought as he's like a big baby. He knows sit and shake so already will have a head start on the other students in doggy school. I think with a calmer loving home this boy is going to make a wonderful pet. Also surprisingly enough for being a stray he appears to be housetrained. I love this big boy and so grateful that he's here, but know he'll love his very own home. With any bully breed you will need to check with your community regulations as their are restrictions in some areas. But if his story touches your heart like it did mine, please call Jody a call at 708 268-6965 to set up a meet and greet. Ferdinand has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $200.00 which also includes a microchip with registration.
