My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**June is currently living in Houston and is looking for an active, loving family where she can join in on lots of adventures and fun. She is available for local or out-of-town adoption.**

This gorgeous Pointer mix is looking for love with a fun and sweet family. She is estimated at 1.5 years old and is currently 45 pounds. She is tall with long legs perfect for running and hiking. Her short white coat is beautiful and her adorable eye patches are perfect for her personality.

Our best guess as to why this lovely lady ended up at the shelter as a stray is that she simply got away from her owner because she was already spayed, does not have heartworms and is in good physical condition; none which are common for a stray in this area and this heat. Her adventurous and playful nature leads us to believe that she was living a boring life either in a backyard or with a family that didn’t include her in their activities. She found her way into our program and we’ve promised her the opportunity to fulfill her dreams of a fun-filled life.

She loves to play in her doggy swimming pool and we think she’d really enjoy the beach or other water activities. She’s a smart girl and is learning quickly how to live as an indoor pet. She needs daily exercise and will excel at any activity you introduce her to.

She adores all people and is very friendly. She is pretty excitable and often jumps up on her new friends, so we are working on that. Because of that habit, she’s probably best suited for adults or older children that wouldn’t get knocked over by her boisterous personality. She isn’t all action all the time! She is also an affectionate girl who loves to be with her people and promises to be faithful and trusty friend for many years.

June is a great passenger in the car and will ride along with you anywhere. It’s clear that her previous owner didn’t have her on a leash very often as we are still working on walking calmly on it. She is picking it up quickly, but still pulls some when she’s just getting started and when she’s excited in new places or with new people. There’s just so much to see and do and she’s enthusiastic about that.

She gets along great with other dogs, but she prefers the more active ones so they can play and have fun together. We think that she is a bit much for a senior or very tiny breed of dog. She would be just fine as an only dog in the family or with an active furry sibling. She probably isn’t the best fit to have a cat as a companion because she enjoys a game of chase. She is currently enjoying having a yard to play in if she’s at home or if she’s not going anywhere with her foster that day. She wouldn’t be an ideal candidate for an apartment or other small dwelling without a yard unless she was active throughout the day and came home just to rest.

June is ready to find her family and start living a life full of fun and love. She is currently living in Houston and would like to find her new family as soon as possible to begin her new, happy life. Her adoption fee is $300, a steal for all of the joy and entertainment she will bring into thefamily. If you are looking for a young, loyal, lively companion to spend your free time with, please consider this beautiful, happy go lucky girl. To find out more about how to bring her home, please email adoptions@reggiesfriends.org or fill out the adoption application on our website, www.reggiesfriends.org, under the Adoptables tab.
