Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB May 1, 2015.
Daphne is a total sweetheart! She has a tiny little meow that her foster mom thinks is the cutest ever because she shows all her tiny teeth with a kitty smile as she talks! She is very affectionate, and even though her important kitten business keeps her busy, she likes to check in with her humans for a cuddle, snuggle and purr session throughout the day or evening before she's on her way again.
Like most kittens, Daphne loves to play, play, play and then take a big nap. She loves all toys, especially fuzzy sparkly balls, cat tunnels, tall cat trees, the Turbo Scratcher, Da Bird - wait… Daphne likes everything!
When she’s all done playing, Daphne loves to nap in the highest, sunniest spot where she can keep an eye on the birdies outside. With a little play time before bed, she is very good at sleeping through the night when the house is quiet. Daphne loves to sleep curled up next to her humans and patiently waits for the morning alarm before waking people up with kitty kisses.
Daphne and her sister are also both big helpers when it comes time to sweep or mop the floor, wash the kitchen table, do the laundry, make the bed, and while they stay out of the way of the vacuum they are more curious than scared!
Daphne and her siblings were born feral and found living under a porch where they were unwanted. After several attempts to catch them by hand, they were eventually trapped and taken to a high kill shelter where they spent two weeks huddled and scared in a cage. Their experience left them fearful of people and being especially wary of human hands.
Daphne quickly became attached to her foster mom but it took a very long time for her to get used to the other people in the home. She is now used to and enjoys the company of older children (9+), other cats, and even a ridiculously friendly, big dog. She doesn’t mind being carried from room to room and can often be found curled up on anyone’s bed, depending on the day.
Daphne is still nervous around new people and will need extra time and patience to become used to her new home. With just a little extra care, she will easily develop trust with her forever family and become the sweet little kitten her foster family grew to love.
Daphne is best friends with her sister Suki, but they are also independent of each other and get along with all the cats in their foster home. They would love to be adopted and grow up together, but as long as there is another playful and tolerant feline companion in their home they will both do just fine!
