Tinker's Story...
Tinker is a 1 1/2 year old Chihuahua that weighs 7 lbs. He is in a foster home with 2 children ages 7 and 9 and is very good with them and their other foster dogs. He is very sweet and may be a little timid at first but will warm up quickly and is ready for loving and snuggling. He is kennel trained but would require basic leash training. He and Sassy's (who is also listed) owner died and the family did not want to care and keep them so they brought them to a high kill shelter where death awaited them until rescue found them and could not let them be subject to such a heartless act. They are healthy and happy and we know their deceased owner would want each of them to go to good homes where they would be loved and cared for. Tinker is a great lil guy and will continue to make a very loving pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tinker, a Alexandria Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Alexandria, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Alexandria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alexandria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alexandria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alexandria paves the way for another one to be saved.
