My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Elsa
I can’t tell you too much about my early years before being rescued by CEBR other than I’m an owner surrender but can tell you a little bit about myself since being in foster care. I tend to be a bit of a spit fire at times and my foster parents will refer to me as a bull in a china shop but it only lasts for a few minutes before I’m all yours to love and be loved. I have a little nugget of a tail that is constantly wagging, I’m just a happy go lucky girl that is very affectionate and loves to be with her humans. At first my foster parents didn’t think I was going to be much of a cuddle bug but I’m starting to come around and starting to show them that I do have a soft side and like to curl up beside them or on their lap.
I am timid when it comes to loud noises that I am not familiar with and will tend to want to run the opposite way. I think in time and a little coaxing and letting me know it is ok that I’ll come around and won’t be so scared to the unusual noises. I am also timid at first when it comes to meeting new people (but if they have food I tend to warm right but still with a bit of caution). I love to go for short walks but I tend to pull (I’m a bully on a mission). My foster parents are currently working with me on the pulling and feel in time that I could be walking by my owner’s side instead of in front. I love getting a bath and if you are not quick enough, I will hop right into the tub if you are not watching me. My foster parents say I’m like a kid at times and need my time-outs (aka quiet time) which in turn I do take a much needed nap. I prefer to have bones/antlers for “chew” toys because if I’m given a stuffed toy I tend to get the stuffing out of it and then the toy has to be taken from me. I will do the same with beds that are filled with stuffing so I would much rather have one of those padded pet beds.
I’m about 95% house broken and do use a crate for nighttime and when my foster parents are at work during the day. I don’t mind using the crate and to be honest it helps to protect me and my surroundings so I don’t get into trouble (chewing on things that I shouldn’t be).
I’m very food motivated so training me will come pretty easy with just some patience, time…..and lots of treats.
My foster parents say that I’m going to make some family very happy and it was confirmed because my first trip to the vet they said I was the best looking bulldog they have seen and made the comment that some family will be very lucky to have me.
I’m looking for that forever home…….
