Butch's Story...

Butch Cassidy is an extremely handsome male boxer who is approximately 5 yrs of age. Butch Cassidy came into rescue with his sister, Belle Starr.   Our preference would be to adopt them together if at all possible.

Butch is a well mannered boy.  He is very smart.  He does well on leash, knows some basic obedience and has a very "stoic" presence.  Butch seems to do well with most other dogs unless they "challenge" him.

Butch has been good with the children to whom he has been introduced.  He seems to enjoy the company of people, but can also entertain himself while out running in the play yard.

Butch and Belle would be an amazing pair to add to most any family.

If you think you might like to adopt Butch Cassidy or one of our other dogs, YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ONLINE APPLICATION at It does not commit you to adopting.

Every dog adopted out by MTBR must be an inside dog. There are no exceptions!

DISCLAIMER: Dogs have been observed while in the rescue program, and appear to be of stable temperament. However, it is not possible to test dogs under all circumstances, so caution should be used in new environments, especially involving young children.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Butch, a Brentwood Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Brentwood, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Brentwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brentwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brentwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brentwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
