My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Initial Bio 11/05/15: Coco Bean is a precious yorkie, approximately 2 1/2 years old, petite at only 5 pounds. Coco Bean is being fostered in Riverview, Fl.

But, for being so little, Coco is full of personality! Coco came to UYR as a part of a 27 dog home. She was given food, love, and attention, but was medically neglected. Coco was relatively healthy but, recently given her first shots, microchipped, examined, and spayed. She had icky ears, which are being cleaned daily and treated to prevent any infection. She also has a knee issue, called a luxating patella, but it does not hold her back and the vet did not feel there was a need for surgical intervention, because she walks on it, although sometimes she will pick it up when she is running. It does not cause her pain. As she ages, this is something that could require additional attention over the years.

She has yet to have a dental cleaning, although her teeth were in decent shape, this is something that will be necessary within the next 6 months. Coco is a sweet little girl, very curious about her new environment and loves to be held and cuddled, she even asks for extra cuddle time when she feels she's being ignored. Because Coco is so small, she would be best suited for an adult home, with pets 10 pounds or less. Coco gets along well with other dogs and we feel she needs to be in a home with at least one other dog, because of her personality, we have not seen her with cats. She is very friendly and happy and would enjoy someone who works from home or is home frequently to give her lots of attention. She is getting adjusted to a more structured life and yesterday she stepped on grass for the first time ever, she is currently wee-pad trained. She is learning to walk on a leash and we are crate training to help with her potty routine to get her adjusted to going outside, which she seems to be learning quickly. Coco is truly a joy to foster and will be an amazing addition to a lucky family! Is it you? Please apply to adopt! Thank you!
