Maverick's Story...
This handsome boy here is MAVERICK! Give him a moment of your time...he's sure to steal your heart!

Maverick is an absolutely sweet and lovely boy! He is well-mannered, and is a pro at using his scratching post instead of the couch. He is very social and outgoing, so if you prefer a cat who will be out and about to entertain your guests, Maverick's the man! And with his beautiful looks, he's sure to be irresistible.

His favourite things are climbing, hunting the laser pointer, and...FOOD! 😂 And, or course, getting lots of pets.

Maverick is FIV+. The vet who tested him for FIV recommended euthanasia, which is when we stepped in! Because, as we've said so many times, FIV is SO misunderstood- euthanasia is simply an unacceptable solution! In fact, one study showed that FIV cats are more likely to be euthanized because they cannot find a home than they are because of FIV itself!

Maverick is fabulous with his doggy foster-brother, so if you need a dog-friendly cat, there's just one more reason to ask us about Maverick! Contact us at info@teamcatrescue.ca, or fill out an application on our website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maverick, a THORNHILL Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in THORNHILL, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in THORNHILL.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in THORNHILL already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a THORNHILL breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in THORNHILL paves the way for another one to be saved.
