My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Esco! He's a 4 year old, 70lb American Bull dog mix looking for his furever home. After being found as a stray, he quickly became a staff favorite at the vet hospital he was brought to. The vet staff loved him so much that they put in the time and effort to find him a foster home. At his foster home he won over his foster parents in minutes with his unconditional loving and goofy demeanor. You can't help but fall in love with this guy! His foster parents have been asked countless times why anyone would ever give him up.

Esco is so friendly and calm meeting new people and is not jumpy at all! He loves kids and his favorite part of the day is getting pet by the kids waiting for the school bus in the morning. His affinity for both play and chill makes him the perfect house companion for any family. He is also very adaptable to new situations. Travelling with his foster parents for Thanksgiving has been very easy since he gets along all new people!

Esco is already 100% house and crate trained, and knows 'sit' 'paw' 'down' and 'come'. He has great house manners and does not go on furniture unless invited. Esco has been great with leash training, but since he is excitable around dogs, will need an adopter to continue leash training with him so he doesn’t forget there's a human behind him on that leash!

While in his foster home, Esco has been friendly with the dogs he meets on his block, although he has not met too many. He is extremely excitable when he sees other dogs, so we think proper introductions with any new dogs is very important. He is also very excitable around cats, so we think a home without cats would be best.

Esco is also is an expert cuddler. He loves getting right up next to you to relax on the couch, but only once invited.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
