Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What’s not to love about my friend Flicka, this sweet, smart, senior girl who walks with a constant smile on her face and a wag in her tail. Estimated to be 8 to 10 years old, Flicka was surrendered to the pound in rural West Virginia when her owner went into hospice. You would never guess that she had lived outside her whole life as she is completely house trained and is now crate trained as well. Although her health was precarious when she arrived back in early April, she is now a solid 35 pounds and healthy as can be. Flicka has been living in her foster home with 4-5 other dogs and a cat and she lets the cat groom her and sleep curled up next to her! Such a loving, gentle girl yet very willing to sound the alarm should an intruder or a squirrel come on the scene. She walks well on a leash but would prefer shorter walks over long. Rolling around on her back in the grass or contentedly dozing by the fire with her peeps nearby are her preferred activities, as is eating. She has not had the opportunity to be around younger children in her foster home but she appears to be fine with meeting new people after proper introductions. Flicka is such a wise soul, so gentle, and only wants to please. Her foster mom says, "I have never had such an easy foster dog; she is truly a love." Flicker is available for private appointments or at our shelter once we receive your application.
