Little Lewis is just the sweetest little senior dog you could ever ask for! He is well-behaved, cute as can be, unique-looking...a quiet, affectionate lovebug who will make someone a wonderful companion. He is housetrained, not a barker- simply a great companion dog. No very young children- he doesn't appreciate the antics of young children, but older kids might be OK. He is excellent riding in the car. A quieter type of home with a yard (no apts.) is what we're seeking for Lewis- and without young children. If you've got love and companionship to offer Lewis, please fill out an adoption application at our site @ Lewis is neutered, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Please note: he is being fostered in Vermont.

About Peis & Strays - VT

About Our Rescue Group...

Peis and Strays is a non-profit all-volunteer organization. It was established by a small group of individuals in the New England area with the intent of helping Chinese Shar Pei find loving homes.

Peis and Strays relies on donations, fund-raising activities and adoption fees for its income. We do not receive any state or federal funds. All donations directly benefit the dogs in our adoption program. We are a 501c3 organization, so your donations are tax deductible. We are always in need of donations and committed volunteers like ourselves. For more information about us, please email us at:

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a shelter in any specific location, all of our dogs are cared for by foster families in their homes, across New England. Since the dogs are all cared for by private foster families, we ask that the adopter fill out an application before they meet a dog, to show that they are truly interested in adopting.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process includes an application (, a home visit and the vet reference. Further information about our adoption policies are located at:
