Yo, Jake here. I’m often overlooked because I’m just kind of a common male tabby cat and unless people ask to see me, they don’t see my true personality. I’m such a lover! I’ll give you head butts, leg rubs, take all the petting you can throw at me and ask for more. I’m a little uneasy when you hold me up high but I’ll get better I promise! I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve too—I love to play in water so leave your faucet running a trickle and let’s see how we get along.

He is neutered, tested for FeLV & FIV, dewormed, vaccinated for FVRCP & rabies, microchipped, and receives 30 days of free health insurance.

About Humane Society of Waupaca County

About Our Shelter...

We are working hard to end pet overpopulation by setting an example for our community! All dogs, cats and rabbits are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, and we have begun a spay/neuter program "No More Litters" for the pets belonging to low income families. We work very hard to get our adoptable animals into good homes as quickly as possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our Adoption Center is a place of hope. Please come an visit us, you will see why! All animals are very well-cared for until we can place them into new, loving homes. You will find us located behind the Waupaca Airport, just off of HWY 10, east of Waupaca. We are open Monday and Thursday from 12 -
3 pm, Wed and Friday from 2 - 7 pm, Saturday from 12 - 5 pm and Sunday from 11 am - 1 pm. We are closed on Tuesdays. We are also available by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary, according to species, size, age and other issues. Discounts apply in some cases. We consider these to be good values after you take into consideration how much veterinary care goes into each animal before placement. Every dog, cat and rabbit is spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Our dogs are also heartworm tested if appropriate and started on heartworm preventative, tested for Ehrlichia & Lymes Disease, examined for fleas & treated with a monthly preventative, vaccinated for Bordatella, rabies (unless too young), and DHLP, dewormed, microchipped and receive 30 days of free veterinary insurance. All animals come with an adoption packet which includes their health record.

We do require that you fill out an application, and wait patiently for at least 24 hours while our committee goes over it. In almost all cases, you'll be required to come visit the animal. We will do out of town adoptions, but you must comply with the above conditions. In some cases, applications may be pre-approved via email, fax or mail, so that you may pick up your new pet in one visit.
