My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CHERRY is a toy poodle who came in as a stray and very underweight. The vet puts her at about 7 years old and she now weighs 9 lbs. She loves to cuddle and play like a puppy. She probably was discarded as a breeder's dog. We have removed her mammary tumors and spayed her. She is otherwise spunky and healthy except she still has a sensitive stomach (we can only wonder what she was getting her nutrition from considering her underweight condition when rescued). The tummy is remedied with some medicine powder on her food and hopefully should clear up over time as she gets used to eating normally.

CHERRY seems to only have vision in one eye and we are keeping her other eye under watch for a few more months to ensure it is not in danger.
Her ideal home is one with one or no other dogs. She needs a quiet environment or she gets stressed. Loves all people except some men. Can be vocal at times.

CHERRY is being fostered in BREVARD county. To learn more about adopting her, go to http://www3.coastalpoodlerescue.org/poodles/poodledetail.cfm?DogID=1812

Can't adopt right now? Consider becoming a foster home for a rescue dog; it's temporary, but very fulfilling and your only cost is their food! Fill out a volunteer application from our website at www.coastalpoodlerescue.org

APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED ONLY FROM FULL/PART-TIME RESIDENTS OF FLORIDA AS A HOME VISIT IS REQUIRED; NO EXCEPTIONS. IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN FLORIDA, PLEASE LOOK FOR RESCUE GROUPS IN YOUR HOME STATE. WE APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION.
