Lexi's Story...
An interview with the Lovable Lexi

What is your name? Lexi

How old are you? Truth be told, I'm a little over 2, but I'm making up for lost time so sometimes I act like a puppy.

How much do you weigh? 35.7 pounds.

What do you look like? I have my own special unique look. I have beautiful bug eyes and a compact body.

What do you like to eat? I love peanut butter! Mmmm mmmm mmmm. Also frozen bananas.

What kind of personality do you have? I have a very happy and loving personality. I will follow you where ever you go, prancing and wagging my tail the whole time!

Describe your perfect day. I love dressing up and running errands or going out to lunch or to work at the winery. Anywhere I can see people!

What is your favorite toy? Anything that squeaks and that I can play with my foster brothers with.

Do you know any tricks? I can make you fall in love with me in 2.1 seconds.

What scares you? Being abandoned and alone.

Have you been around children? Do you like them? YES! My Foster parent's Grandchildren were here for a week, they are ages 6, 4, and 18 months. I loved them so much that I went into a doggie depression for a day or two when they left.

Do you like cats? Not particularly. I keep trying to check them out but they always run faster then me.

How do you feel about other dogs? I love other dogs! I know they love me and want to be my friend, who wouldn't want to be my friend?!?

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you be? Every morning, my Foster Dad wakes up Foster Mom, by bringing her a cup of coffee and kissing her. He then sits in bed with her and they drink their coffee and talk about the day and stuff. They invite me to snuggle in the bed with them while they spend this time together, they both love on me and I give them both kisses. I feel so safe and so loved, right now, that is where I would want to be!

How is your health? My health is good. I do not know if you have noticed but I do have a condition known as a cleft nare. It gives me my own unique look.

Who do you live with in your Foster home and who is your closest companion?
I live with my Foster parents, Kent and Kimm Richwine, their teenage son Reese and their pit bull Bodie. I also have a Foster brother Bowser. My closest companions are my Foster Dad and Bodie.

Where do you hang out when you are alone? I'm not alone that much but if I am I hang out in my Princess crate. My Foster Mom made it all pretty for me with tulle and pillows and a tiara. This is also where I sleep.

Do you like walking in a leash? Well of course I do, how else is everybody going to see how cute I am!

Do you have any not so great habits we should know about? I don't like when I am left alone and sometimes I cry. Not bark, cry, it is very sad.

Are you house trained? YES!

Do you like playing in the water? Yes! If there is not any water to play in I have been known to play in my outside water dish.

What do you love about your Foster Family? I love that they love me and have given me this life while I wait for my forever family! They take us to the lake, dog park, Lowes, where I love to smell the flowers. They include me in everything and treat me like a part of a family. I'm ready for my Forever Family now!

What was your life like before being brought to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue? I try not to think back on that dark time. I was basically used as a "puppy mill" dog. Shortly after my most recent liter of puppies, when those terrible people were done with me, they tied me to a park bench, on a day when the heat was over 105, and walked away. Leaving me to die. I was then picked up and taken to a shelter where they wanted to euthanize me because I was "too ugly." I think the were looking at their own reflection, not me! I was so very lucky that someone made a call to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue and Leslie and Wendy drove up and rescued me, and now...I never look back!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexi, a Lincoln American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Lincoln, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Lincoln.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lincoln already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lincoln breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lincoln paves the way for another one to be saved.
