I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
CARLOS IS READY FOR HIS FUREVER HOME! We rescued Carlos on Memorial Day of this year from the local shelter. We named him after a decorated WMD Dog who served overseas in honor of the day. Carlos came to us with a severe injury to his rear leg/hock. We don't know exactly what caused it, but we think his leg got tangled up in a cord or clothesline of sorts, which then severed the muscle up above his hock (knee joint). He's had persistent swelling and because of the damage to his muscle, he also developed a deep ulcer on the bottom of the foot which is almost completely healed.
All of this doesn't slow him down much, but Carlos would not be a good partner for an athletic adopter. He may walk with a bit of a limp, and special attention to his pad will probably always be needed. He is a sweet boy of about 4 years, is calm, mellow, gets along with other dogs and kids, and rarely barks. He loves his attention and enjoys cuddling in bed.
Carlos also enjoys short walks - his foot needs to be wrapped for this - but it is simple and easy. Carlos would actually do better in a home with another dog. He has a touch of separation anxiety - so he likes to have another dog around - he is not destructive and can have free reign in the house - no crating! This is a wonderful, beautiful, easygoing guy! He is the perfect partner for someone who likes all of the traits of a German Shepherd but who also enjoys a calm, well-adjusted pup. He is dog door trained, house trained, non-destructive and a great guy overall. If you can open up your home & heart to this fantastic boy - please fill out our online application to get the approval process in motion. We won't schedule meet & greets without an approved adopter on file. Here's the link:
