Finnigan's Story...
This poor little guy was picked up as a stray and no one came looking for him. We pulled him out of the shelter as soon as his stray hold was up. He was covered in fleas and flea dirt. He immediately went to the vet and was HW tested negative, vaccinated and neutered. It has been a week since his surgery and we were finally able to give him a good bath. Now he is cute and fluffy! I know he looks serious in his picture but he is a, sweet, happy tail wagger! He made a little friend here and the two of them love to play. Finnigan is about 2 or 3 years old and weighs 13 lbs. He likes to play with other dogs and loves people. It always amazes me that a dog can be so neglected and still trust people so much. If you would like to make this cute boy your new forever family member, please contact lorainecm@comcast.net or omlc7@hotmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Finnigan, a Albany Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Albany, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
